Ardex · Certified Installer

Portland Concrete Holds Ardex Certified Installer Status

When you hire a certified Ardex installer, the crew has completed factory training, the slab gets installed to Ardex specification, and the warranty shifts from product-only to full system coverage. That distinction matters. We maintain certification across the Ardex product range so your project gets the protection that comes with documented, trained installation.

The certification difference

Why Ardex Certification Changes the Warranty You Receive

Without certification, an Ardex product warranty covers only the material itself. If a waterproofing membrane or overlay fails, Ardex replaces the product. The labor to remove the failed system, the cost to demolish overlying work, and any damage that resulted from the failure are not covered. On a commercial project, that gap can be substantial.

Certification shifts the warranty to system-level coverage. The same failure now includes labor, removal, and restoration in the warranty scope. The crew has completed Ardex training on prep, primer, mixing, application, and cure for each product. Installation follows Ardex specification exactly. Documentation is captured during the pour and submitted to Ardex at project close.

We maintain certification across the Ardex products we install regularly. That means every overlay project, self-leveling underlayment, repair mortar, and waterproofing system gets the full system warranty. The same approach carries through our other brand partnerships and commercial concrete work.

The certified install sequence

How Ardex Certification Flows Through Your Project

  1. Identify the Ardex system

We determine which Ardex product fits your concrete need (overlay, self-leveling, repair, waterproofing) and confirm that system falls within our certification scope. Most standard Ardex applications are covered.

  2. Install per Ardex spec

The crew follows the exact Ardex specification for that system, including substrate prep, primer application, mix ratios, placement method, finishing, and cure conditions. No shortcuts; the spec is the spec.

  3. Capture install data

During the pour, we record as-built dimensions, batch numbers, installation photos, and any testing required by the system. This documentation package is the foundation of the warranty claim.

  4. Register warranty with Ardex

The complete documentation is submitted to Ardex for system warranty registration. You receive a copy of the warranty certificate and all supporting records at project handoff.

Product vs. system warranty

System Warranty Covers What Product Warranty Does Not

A product warranty replaces the failed material. A system warranty covers the cost of correcting the failure, which includes labor, removal of the failed system, and restoration of the surrounding work. On a commercial slab, the difference is the difference between replacing a membrane and replacing a membrane plus the cost of tearing out flooring, replacing the membrane, and reinstalling the flooring.

Our certification scope includes the Ardex products we install on a regular basis. When you work with any of our Ardex services, the certification status applies. The same warranty protection extends across our brand specialty and residential concrete work.

Common questions

Ardex Certification Questions, Answered

What certification covers, warranty difference, training and project coverage.

Crew has completed Ardex training on specific systems, follows Ardex install spec, and submits documentation supporting Ardex system warranty. Not every contractor handling Ardex products has certification; we maintain it because it changes what customers actually receive.
Product warranty replaces a failed material; system warranty addresses the actual cost of correcting a failure (labor, demolition of overlying work, consequential damage). For commercial projects especially, the difference is significant.
Our certification covers the Ardex products we install regularly: overlays, SLU, repair mortars, waterproofing systems. Less common products may require additional verification; we confirm at quote time.
As-built dimensions, batch records, install photographs, any required testing. The package is submitted to Ardex for system warranty registration and a copy is delivered to you at handoff.
Slightly, reflecting the training, documentation, and submission overhead. The cost difference is small compared to the value of system warranty over product warranty on commercial projects.

System warranty on our Ardex waterproofing install. The cert paperwork was delivered at handoff; if anything fails, the warranty covers the actual cost. Real value for commercial work.

They are the only certified Ardex installer we work with on overlay projects. The warranty submission is part of the install package, not an extra. That changes the value of the install.

Y. W5
Commercial GC, Vancouver
★★★★★

Documentation during install was thorough. Photos, batch records, dimensional verification. Our internal compliance file got the warranty paperwork with no follow-up needed.

Q. W5
Facility Director, Hillsboro
★★★★★

They explained the product-warranty vs system-warranty difference clearly at quote time. Made the value of cert install obvious. Worth the small premium.
