Kitchen & Bath Concrete Countertops Built for Portland Homes

Your countertop is templated to your exact space, then cast in custom forms with all cut-outs and edges placed before the concrete sets. Portland Concrete finishes the slab smooth, seals it against heat and stains, and installs it level on your cabinets. Indoor kitchen and bath counters, outdoor bar and grill surfaces, all cast to fit. Free written estimate included.

The templating process

How Concrete Countertops Start With Measurement

Before any concrete is mixed, we visit your kitchen or bath and measure the cabinets, the wall runs, and the exact location of your sink and cooktop. This template becomes the blueprint for custom forms that will hold the concrete while it cures.

Because the forms are built to your space, not a generic size, the finished slab fits without gaps or seams in the wrong places. An indoor kitchen countertop can wrap an island or run the full perimeter of a galley without a visible joint. An outdoor bar counter can be shaped to your grill station or patio layout.

After the concrete cures, we grind the surface to your chosen finish (honed, polished, or lightly textured), apply a food-safe sealer, and set it in place. The same finishing technique appears in our polished concrete floors and pool deck work.

The casting sequence

From Template to Sealed Concrete Countertop

  1. Measure and template

We visit the space, measure the cabinets and walls, and confirm the edge profile, finish colour and location of all cut-outs.

  2. Build custom forms

Forms are constructed to match the template exactly, with reinforcement placed to prevent cracking across the span.

  3. Pour and cure

The concrete is cast into the forms, vibrated to remove air pockets, and left to cure either in our shop or on-site depending on size.

  4. Finish and seal

The surface is ground to your chosen finish, sealed with a food-safe product, and installed level on the cabinets.

Two main applications

Choosing Between Indoor & Outdoor Countertops

An indoor concrete countertop is finished smooth and sealed food-safe for kitchen islands, perimeter runs and bathroom vanities. The honed or polished surface is easy to clean and resists heat from pots and pans.

An outdoor concrete countertop is built with extra durability for weather and UV exposure. It is the ideal surface for a grill station or outdoor kitchen because it handles heat, moisture and seasonal temperature swings. Both types are cast to your exact layout, so the counter becomes part of the space rather than something trimmed to fit it.

Common questions

Concrete Countertop Questions Answered

Casting, durability, finishes and care for concrete countertops in Portland.

Yes. Every indoor concrete countertop is templated to your exact cabinets and cast in custom forms, with sink and cooktop cut-outs placed where they belong, not trimmed from a stock slab.
Sealed concrete resists stains and heat well and is harder than it looks, but like any counter it is not indestructible. We seal it properly and give you the simple care steps that keep it looking new for years.
Square, eased, bullnose and custom edges, with honed, polished or lightly textured surfaces. We confirm the edge, finish and colour on the template visit so the cast counter matches what you pictured.
Either, depending on size and access. Smaller counters are often cast in our shop and installed finished; larger or wrap-around counters may be cast in place. We confirm which on the estimate.

Cast a concrete island top with no seam where you would notice one. The edge profile is exactly what we picked and it has shrugged off everything the kitchen throws at it.

Outdoor bar counter for our grill station. Built tougher for the weather, and a full year outside later it still looks the day it was sealed.

They templated the vanity properly so the counter dropped in level first try. Honed finish feels great and the sealer has held up to daily use.

Loved that it was cast to our space, not cut to fit. The cooktop cut-out landed exactly where it should and the colour matches the floor.
